Our Community Initiative

Compassion in Action is a child development ministry that works to release children from their spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty.

The CAP Pillars

The CAP project initiative is founded on a set of principles and values. Below are list of some of our core values and pillars.

Healing

Then the four men mentioned by name came forward and distributed clothes from the plunder to the prisoners who were naked. They provided clothing and sandals to wear, gave them enough food and drink, and dressed their wounds with olive oil (HEALING BALM in NIV).

They put those who were weak on donkeys and took all the prisoners back to their own land-to Jericho, the city of palms. Then they returned to Samaria. 2 Chr 28:15 NLT

Speaking up for the destitute

“Speak up for people who cannot speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless. Speak for them and be a righteous judge. Protect the rights of the poor and needy.” Pro 31:8-9 GNT

Generosity

Be generous and share your food with the poor. You will be blessed for it. Pro 22:9 GNT

Care for the poor

If you oppress poor people, you insult the God who made them; but kindness shown to the poor is an act of worship. Pro 14:31 GNT

Clothing the homeless

Personally designated men gathered the captives together, dressed the ones who were naked using clothing from the stores of plunder, put shoes on their feet, gave them all a square meal, provided first aid to the injured, put the weak ones on donkeys, and then escorted them to Jericho, the City of Palms, restoring them to their families. Then they went back to Samaria. 2 Chr 28:15 MSG

Feeding the hungry

For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.  I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

“Then these righteous ones will reply,` Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?’

And the King will tell them,` I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!  Matt. 25:35-40 NLT

Sharing the Good news

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.

He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. Isa. 61:1-2 NLT

Sympathy and care

You sympathised with those in prison… Heb 10:34 NIV

Caring for the weak and despondent

For God is not unfair. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other Christians, as you still do. Heb 6:10 NLT.
